About the Role
We're looking for an exceptional hands-on Carpenter who has a comprehensive skill set who can complete tasks across all aspects of residential renovation projects.
This position is for someone who has spent years mastering the craft of renovation work and understands how to read plans, organize the site, prioritize the work to be completed, solve problems independently, and consistently deliver quality craftsmanship without needing direction.
This position includes all divisions of renovation work including selective demolition work, foundation forming, pouring and placing of concrete, framing additions, walls, stairs, hand cut roofs, decks etc. installing siding of various types, including the application of building wrap and waterproof membranes, setting windows and doors, the installation of finishing work of all types, including small drywall repairs, finish flooring installation, laying tile, cabinet installation and completing high-end finishing work.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead by example while working alongside the crew.
- Execute a wide variety of construction tasks with minimal supervision.
- Complete work efficiently while maintaining exceptional quality.
- Read plans and anticipate construction challenges before they become problems.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Supervisors, Architects, designers and subcontractors.
- Mentor apprentices and junior carpenters.
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe jobsite.
- Ensure all work meets BC Building Code and TerrisCo quality standards.
- Assist PMs and Site Supervisors with scheduling work, coordinating deliveries and managing site logistics.
- Take ownership of your projects from foundation through final finishing.

You should be highly competent in the following areas and able to perform the work described to a professional standard:
- Site layout
- Excavation preparation
- Concrete forming and pouring
- Structural framing
- Timber framing
- Roof framing
- Roofing
- Exterior siding and cladding
- Building envelope details, membrane application and waterproofing
- Flashing – head sill and jamb
- Soffits and fascia
- Window installation
- Exterior and interior doors
- Drywall installation and repairs
- Interior finishing
- Custom millwork installation
- Hardwood, laminate and engineered flooring
- Tile installation
- Stair construction
- Deck construction
- Renovations
- Heritage restoration
- Deficiency corrections
- Punch list completion
Required Experience
- 12+ years of construction experience
- Extensive experience on high-end custom residential projects & renovations
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Comfortable leading small crews when required (2 to 3 in-house crew members)
- Strong understanding of the entire residential construction process
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and make sound decisions on site
- Ability to read and understand architectural and structural drawings
- Own professional-grade tools
- Valid BC Driver's Licence and reliable transportation

Compensation & Benefits

- $40–$55+ per hour, depending on experience, capabilities, and demonstrated skill
